Amazing Spaces

Post by Sunny B »

Did anyone see this? Really inspiring how people have created lovely small living spaces by hard work and not by simply throwing money at their projects.

Well worth a look if you missed it - it was on Channel 4

ooh - thanks for that - I'd seen it trailered ages ago, but had forgotten all about it (I'm hopeless at watching television, because it never occurs to me to turn it on!)

I'm pleased that this is back on again, I love the jovial nature of George and Will, a great double act. I watched last night and there was a couple who built a retreat at the bottom of their garden out of pallets. They managed to get a couple of hundred free of charge. They did have to buy a few things, but most of the materials were recycled. Only spent a small amount though. I wondered about the floor. The base was pallets, how long would it be before they started rotting. I built a decking in my back garden out of pallets a couple of years ago and it is showing signs of collapse in some parts.

Very inspiring programme. )t'

I agree Ilona, great programme.

I like George Clarke and his slanto towards the unusual.

Too many 'little boxes - and they're all made out of ticky tacky and they all look just the same' (as the song goes !!)

I'd like to see some quirky Chicken Houses as well, there are some about :-D
