I've just watched it and the guest (some impressionist chap) was reading an article from a magazine about hens.
He seemed surprised that there should be such a thing, and had the studio in peals of laughter reading out part of an article about the personality of different breeds.

How ignorant.

Well of course they haven't got personalities, lets just keep them in a box, put food in take eggs out.

yes, ignorance & small mindedness! Some people are so shallow.
I spose keeping of chickens as pets is still quite a novel idea for most people,
but it's spreading!
