Dave Clark Five Documentary

Post by Richard »

Tonight BBC2 10.05pm.

This looks quite interesting, not only about the Band but what's gone on since.

Very wealthy man now Dave Clark and hangs around with the immense stars.

I didn't know they had 16 number one hits in the USA., the most of any British Artist or Band!
He also was at the bedside of Freddie Mercury when he died.

Goes on for 2 hours, so don't drink your Horlicks too early.

Daily Telegraph article about the programme..

Must admit I thought it was to be more a documentary, but mainly short non stop snipbits with their songs.
Good input from a lot of people though.

I enjoyed the last half hour, about the musical 'Time'.

I had no idea they were such a huge Act in the USA.

Watched this and was talking to someone at work about it today - like you I had no idea they were so famous in America .. they always looked a bit too clean and smiley for me! Good programme though, he was obviously a very astute businessman even in the early days.

I only watched bits and pieces, but the sixties nostalgia made me feel glad all over!
