World’s Busiest Railway. (BBC2 all this week)

Post by saint-spoon »

I wondered if you had seen this programme Dickie, it ‘ll be right up your street. It is a thoroughly enjoyable look at urban Indian culture through their dependence on their railway infrastructure. I think that it is great and I have no particular interest in the railways normally.

Very interesting programme spoony.

Two Geeks and the lovely likeable Anita Rani (what a future she has !!).

So many deaths on the tracks though, frightening.

We've been to Mumbia a few times on the train. They really are an experience and so we found the programme really interesting.

Our youngest kids were 12 and 6 when we lived in India and with all the hustle and bustle of Indian railway stations, one of biggest worries was getting separated. So what we did was to put a whistle on a string round their necks and told them if we got separated that they should stop where they where, not to run off looking for us, and blow their whistles. That way we should be able to find them. Not sure that was too good an idea in a station, might have resulted in a train setting off unexpectedly!
