Mo (Sept 24th.2006)
We seem to have a good crop this year.
Maybe because my daughter is getting them before the squirrels (usually I'm too busy picking apples to bother with things other people like but I dont).
I remember one year we roasted, or toasted them, though it took ages shelling them.
Has anyone else done this? How long do they last? We never found out last time, someone dropped the jar!!!

I've not tried this Mo, but would love to try. So when you find out let us know. I wonder if it would be the same as roasting chestnuts, which I've also never done!

We may never find out how long they keep. Some were shelled last night and shared the oven with a bramble pie. The nut eaters in the family enjoyed them (especially hot), but there are none left.
