Free mayonnaise

Post by AnnaB »

In my local large supermarket today I noticed the sell by date on a jar of mayonnaise (the organic free range egg one that Wendy has!!) was Oct 2007.....I bought one with next years date and took the out of date one to customer service. I was thanked for this and then I reminded them that it should not have been on the shelves and that I wanted the one I had paid for for free - they gave me my money back!
Worth looking at the dates and asking for a refund on your purchase.....

I used to do customer services correspondence for a well known large chain of stores. We often received letters of complaint sent to head office regarding out of date products sold - a letter of apology and a gift voucher were always sent out.

Shouldn't really have said that, should I

So if you are sold an out of date product, you know what to do. :-D
