The high price of Frugal Heating !!

Post by Richard »

To save money on heating my PC Room (sometimes known as a bedroom as well), I purchased one of those little heaters which take the cold off and use the same electricity as a light bulb.

Does the trick perfectly. I put it on the back of my Desk underneath. It keeps the lower half of my body warm which therefore spreads upwards as well!

It doesn't get hot, although I never leave it on after doing my work. It also gives a bit of warmth to the desktop as well.

However, the price to pay is this

One visit to the powder room and he's there - every time.

At least it's not Big Ron !

Hi, Im new to your forum, and would just like to say I think your site is brilliant. Have been visiting for a couple of weeks now and your cat makes me laugh so much each time each time I see the picture . SO funny but definately a price worth paying.

Hi Pam and great to have you on board.

Ginger's not so bad, it's when Big Ron gets up there that all my hard work comes to an abrupt end.

One of those situations where if you don't keep clicking 'save' you've had it !!!

do those heaters have some sort of special name?
i've never seen them here, but then again i wasnt looking!!

sounds good - i think most portable electric heaters here use at least 10 times as much as a lightbulb......

(i do understand that your one is not as hot as those though - but sometimes you don't need much)

What a wonderful picture Richard.

My parents had a GSD that once laid so close to the gas fire that his fur singed. He didn't move away of his own accord, just lay there panting. My Dad smelt the burning smell and jumped up, pulling him away from the fire. Zak just gave him an uncomplimenatry look and went back to sleep.

i used to ride my motor bike home fom work(at about 2-3am)
in shorts(summer time)
i found the warmest place was
just behind the wife in bed

funny thing is the neighboures used to hear her scream
but the game was to get as close as pos but without
touching her trouble is she fidgets in her sleep
can't think why!!
i can't do it now (i get warned and she keeps an old shoe
beside the bed and yes it does hurt!!!)
