Other People's rubbish...

Mo

Have you come across Freecycle? freecycle.org
People with things to give away offer them to their local group - free.
Sounds a good way of keeping useable items out of landfill.

Aussie Freecycle

Post by michelle67 »

I've gotten rid of loads of clutter on our local freecycle, from bags of colored wool, to furniture, craft stuff, book and magazines, over a dozen baby guinea pigs and loads of other stuff.

I've advertised and received an almost brand new breadmaker, a few bootloads of timber, a touch lamp and other things I've needed. Our group is very active with lots of good stuff being given away. I get such pleasure when someone comes to collect my unwanted stuff when I see how happy they are to receive it.

Love freecycle! Having a regular plant swap now with a guy who came round for a lampshade, and left with all the extra veg I'd planted (expecting maybe half not germinate -but nearly all did :-D )

Still waiting on that elusive "offered: shed" post
