Good on those who bagged themselves a bargain but it wasn't the government who lost out, it was Asdah.

Can't believe it took the staff so long to notice. Hubby thinks they all invited their friends and family down for a fill-up before it got changed!

As Meredith said, it wasn't the government that lost out, it was Asda, which means, in the end, the customer.
You don't really think that they will take that kind of loss smiling do you? Their margins will be protected one way or another, as it would be in any other well-run business.
As for why did the staff not notice, our Asda run a self-service system, where you pay in advance with plastic only, so there are no staff on site to notice a mistake such as this.
What's right with this country is the freedom to discuss what's wrong with it.

I would imagine that the small amount of fuel that was sold will not make a dint in the companies profits.
