House insurance

Post by perchy »

Our house insurance is up for renewal, I have had their quote sever percentages of tax etc have been added to the quote }hairout{ earlier in the year my car insurance was up for renewal too, I searched on line and was amazed that I saved several hundred pounds, same policy just different company, I have this afternoon been searching for a new quote I have used soopermarket websites and comaprethesoopermarket too, I have just received a quote for almost identical cover for some £450 cheaper, I feel very ripped off and can only blame myself for not doing this before, I also get clubcard points with the policy.

It will take me a while to get over this, so just take a few mins to have a look around, it is amazing what is out there, once your details are in its easy peasy )t'

I couldn't agree more Perchy - I did the same with my house insurance a few years back and my car insurance this year.

I felt really cross at the amount I had been paying and even crosser with myself for not looking for deals every year }hairout{

Insurance is a filthy word here at the moment....we need to get valuations done for the cost of re-building - a little thing the insurers have now said we need to get before next year or risk being under-insured for rebuild costs :?

We've halved our home insurance cost by moving to a new company. But it remains to be seen if we are still happy should we need to claim....
Lots of cheap quotes out there by companies with appalling reviews

I know its not house insurance. But MIL is 92 and has a mobility scooter. She can't go on the Internet and the insurance company that she has, has just charged her over £300 for the year on a mobility scooter.

I absolutely agree you have to be careful but even so how can there be such a difference, I have the same cover and hope I never have to claim to be honest but if I do that will be proof I guess, havn't had a claim for 10 years >fi<
