Making Homemade cleaner as fed up of paying shop prices

Post by cluck »

Prices in Guildford, Surrey have shot through the roof. I am beginning to make my own cleaner as one less thing to pay for including my eggs of course.
I use an empty spray bottle & 1/2 fill with cheap vinegar e.g tesco basic 14p.
Add small amount of cheap washing up liquid & dishwasher powder. fill the rest of bottle with water & shake to mix together.

This mixture is great for cleaning sinks, bathrooms, toilets & just about anything. Cheap & last for ages. Leaves your taps shiny too.
One less thing to buy. :-D

great idea cluck. I use stardrops it is fab at cleaning everything although it can irritate the skin a little if used regularly. It costs about 70p from wilkos/ home bargains. It is good for stain removal on upholstery too )t'

I make my own cleaner too. I put a good squirt of washing up liquid in a 1-litre spray bottle (50p in reduced to clear section) with a big squeeze of lemon juice, fill it up with warm water and shake. I use it in the bathroom and kitchen - works fine :)

I have some horrible stinky bubble bath that someone gave me for Christmas years ago, it's great for cleaning the toilet and sink. :-D

I have started using a stardrops and white vinegar mixture, much like the washing-up liquid version, for general cleaning. Sodium Bicarbonate also makes a good cleaner, I have even washed the pots with it in emergencies. It is very good for stainless steel, and pot sinks and toilets.

I clean all my windows and mirrors with vinegar ,water and newspaper.
The ink from the print works wonders.
