Have any of you considered using the drum from an old washing machine or tumble drier as a fire pit, they are made of stainless steel anfd are already perforated.
They do work.

I have seen this before, yes they seem to do a great job and there are plenty at the local tip, if you can get to one before the scrap man )t'

Or perhaps even use them for something along these lines. This was an exhibit at Hampton Court Flower Show 2013
