I suppose you could.. but I didnt bother, its been up and in use outside for a couple of years now and no rot in site..
The bits stuck in the cement wouldnt need treating anyway, and the bits stuck out could be treated anytime I suppose.. In fact I'll check today and poss get some of our fence paint out.... )t'
