Paint Problems

Post by foghornleghorn2 »

There is a well known paint manufacturer who uses a common household pet as a trade mark. Got it....good )t'

They are having problems with oil based gloss paint at the moment, white and brilliant white. It has been reformulated to meet the latest voc emissions and in doing so it has left the whites susceptible to "yellowing" where the paint looks like it has been up for years and in a lot of cases looks worse than before it was painted.

It can "yellow" sometimes in hours yike* sometimes in weeks.

This is only in the white gloss and AFAIK doesn't affect any colours. all water based paints are fine, emulsions etc.

Take a tip from me and use another brand for a few months until this is sorted. The company that uses "a hat made for a king" as its name is not affected.
