Now you come to mention it,he lounge floors no longer meet the wall where it was replastered when they came and re-did the damp course under guarantee. I have stuffed it with newspapers.

And water is still coming through the dining room ceiling even though I paid £1500 for a brand new bathroom and new walls to stop it 2 years ago.

like the house was on fire), scraped it, painted & scaped it wet, finally used expensive primer sealer & its still giving us problems in places.
Its like chalk & nothing will stick to it, I just wondered if you may also have this on your ceiling p.penn, which would cause the paper to fall off.

If you are still having problems with powdery surfaces try this

Thanks foghorn, I'll keep a note of this incase we have any more problems.

You would think so really, wouldn't you Sara? I just try to ignore it otherwise I get upset.

Steve - if I knew that...I think it may be the pipes to the rad leaking, but the buider absolutely refused to look and said it was the bath. It wasn't. We also have a roof join above it but thr roofers I got in said it was ok.I can't get the floorboards up anyway and now I have put carpet over.

You can't just leave it. }hairout{
If its a CH pipe- new fresh water being introduced WILL rot all your radiators and they will start to pinhole/burst due to corrosion from the added O2 in the system.

Carpets can be relayed - you know. Haven't you got a blue object you can ask - friend/relly?

I'm not even going to tell you about the kitchen sink. :oops:

Well, ahem, returning to the wallpaper. I have just been looking at it again. I think that overlap stuff that FHLH suggested may just do it. I would go and buy a tube now, but by the time I get there, the shop will be closed. I will get some tomorrow. )grin2(

I really dont believe this thread. P Penn, I dont suppose you have piccies, do you. Like has been said you really need to get the water pipes sorted and the roof a.s.a.p. Water from the roof will and does find the lowest point to come out. Are you sure you employed a cosha roofer and plumber?

Did either of them have a dog or white stick? )j; If the bathroom was only supposedly 'fixed' two years ago, get the plumber back, or get another plumber to come and look and give you his professional opinion. Most give free quotes or estimates nowadays.

Here is the 'bathroom above it' leak

And here is a 25 year old leak ever since the extension was built:

As you can see, I keep painting the leaks with stain stop. )sh

I like the way the diy centre adverts are underneath your post :-D

When somebody visits you in January they may have a look for you, although I am not sure they are good at DIY, maybe his wife will have a look {rofwl}

Serve coffee in the bathroom, lunch in the corner of the bedroom and dessert in the extention )t' they are bound to notice )cowboy(
