I always remember when I was a young woman, my 1st husband cutting a piece of wood for a ceiling joist. I said, 'are you sure that is right' he said 'yes', I said 'are you sure', he said 'yes'.

It was a foot and a half too short. >dum<

Reminds me of the carpet fitters who came to fit a carpet in our 12' x 11' room, and had cut a strip off the 12' width before they unrolled the 11' length!

It pays to have a carpet properly fitted (you can make them take it back).

Using the fork couldnt work as the crate I had has all wider slats, not a thin one down the middle, so hard work was in order. I used a chissle thingy and a hammer and slowly prised them apart, took me just over an hour to do one, how embarrassing, but i will not accept defeat! }hairout{
I can see this is going to be a long project!
wish me luck

Mandy, oh dear, I admire your stamina.... but lets make it easier eh?
Use your chisel thingy, as you put it, and wail the hell out of the end til it goes into the gap. Then you need leverage, so do you have/ can you get some strong metal tube. Scaffolders tube say 3ft long would be ideal...... slide tube over handle and lift gently.....watch yer back!!
A flat pry bar may be better for you....

whilst driving home one afternoon i saw tree surgeons cutting so asked if i could have some for perches
Then it was all finished and the girls moved in

They look happy to me, introducing Red and Ginger now recovering from very naughty bullying
