PVA wash for flaky ceilings
PVA wash for flaky ceilingsdoes the panel know what how to make a PVA wash for a flaky ceiling ... The Missus is getting a tad bogged off cos I haven't finished painting bathroom ceiling but me and DIY is a little like cold nettle soup and custard.
Re: PVA wash for flaky ceilingsGet some PVA and mix it down with water and paint/roller it on.
However if the bathroom is humid - it may not help as it is water based....
Re: PVA wash for flaky ceilingsSorry got to disagree with PVA on any ceilings or walls unless it is prior to plastering work.
PVA will leave a surface that paint will have trouble adhering to. http://www.diyuniverse.com/tiling/70-pva I would brush off/scrape back as much of the loose stuff as possible and then prime the area with a suitable primer. A company calleed Zinsser make a product called Gardz http://www.zinsserdirect.co.uk/product_ ... ucts_id=24 And another called Peelstop http://www.zinsserdirect.co.uk/product_ ... ucts_id=26 After the primer has been applied you can fill any areas that need attention and then I would apply a second coat of primer. Two coats of a suitable topcoat, eggshell is good for a bathroom as it will resist the humidity. http://www.zinsserdirect.co.uk/product_ ... ucts_id=51 Vir prudens non contra ventum mingit
