Here's the finished article, and as you can see the carrots are still growing well in my butt!
It may be used as an onion store this year with an improvised top! :?

On a more serious note, old bath tubs are good for carrots as carrot fly cannot fly above the height of a bath. )t'

Never knew that Foggy..although I'm having no problem with carrot fly I my well just stand my pots on something )t'

The maximum height on average is about 2 ft, if you raise them up and put a small wall of fleece around them you should be safe (or your carrots will) Carrot fly get attracted when you thin carrots out as the smell is released when you disturb them and they simply follow their noses.

So an old bath with a small surround of fleece is ideal. )t'

I have been growing carrots in a spare dustbin I had. to save on compost I quater filled the bin with bark chippings I needed to get rid of, then emptied the remainder of my compost bin into it. The carrots are doing extremely well, and I will be eating the ones I thin out with my Sunday dinner tomorrow :-D

well, my grandson has just told me if i had eaten a lot of carrots my hair would not have gone gray NOW he tells me i said no carrots are supposed to be good for your eyesight well rabbits don,t need glasses do they but he assures me his science teacher told him that. +confused+ is the process irriversable do you think ?
