Gonna try a red mite deterrent.

Post by Steve the Gas »

Not that I have red mite but knowing my luck - I will suffer.
I know a floor and wall fitter as i do the odd job at his house for him.
More importantly, he installs Altro Whiterock which is a whitepvc type boarding/sheets, this stuff is used in hospitals and kitchens, it's about 3.5mm thick.
I am gonna get the gear for nowt and it is 4ft high x 8 ft long sheets that he will cut to size for me. Then line the inside of the coop to the 4 ft height all round. Then wait.
So, )grin2( the blokes know what I mean anyhoo

I have thought about that before Steve, not tried it yet because the materials haven't turned up at the right price. No reaso why you can't have plenty of ventilation holes through the plastic.
I think it will work well. )t'

I'm not a bloke, but I do know exactly what you mean - I know someone who has used this inside their dog kennel - very easy to clean. They don't find it too hot (although obviously a dog kennel is open at the front anyway...)

Is there a danger of the pesky mites getting behind the plastic +confused+

First sign of mites and our chooks get rehomed in a plastic dog kennel and their home gets a proper going over.
