sign for village hall

Post by Tink »

Having had a quote for £60 + I am just near completing a sign for the village hall xmas fayre.
A was given some large pieces of advertising board from a shop. I weathered it and seems ok, it appears to be a plastic type material. I have made stencils on card, meticulously strengthened them with sellotape and spray painted them on.
I have printed off and laminated some xmas images and stuck them on with glue.
They are currently weighted down and I was now wondering is there anything I can do to paint over the whole thing to help preserve it for its epic fortnight out in the elements on the telepgragh pole.
If successful my hope is to paint over the dates in white for next year and adjust the dates,
I also hope to make one for the summer fayre.
What can I use to protect? >coc< I have some indoor varnish , want to keep the price right down please.

Hi Tink,
Indoor varnish may just do for a coulpe of weeks, but extierior varnish would be better (in my opinion!).
Maybe a family member neighbour or friend has some spare!.. )t'
I am old and wise, because I was young and stupid!.

Perhaps a couple of rolls of clear sticky back plastic would work, if it wasn't very big. You could overlap the edges to stop the rain getting underneath. Wil ko sell it, or maybe a £1 shop, or discount stores. Needs carefull application though to prevent wrinkles.
