Finished my pergola project!

Post by Steve valentine »

made from timber from an e bay bargain ten 12'x7"x2" joists that were £26! roof sheets weren't cheap though, £120 :shock:

The timber for the bamboo panels I had to turn 30' of 3x2 into 1x1 with my trusty circular saw, took a bit of time. Bamboo was £12, screw caps for the roof panels were £9, screws i got from work fence paint i already had. total cost £167. Expensive yes but it means we can use the patio in all weathers, think of it as a poor mans conservatory.

I personally don't think it is expensive, imagine how much it would have cost if you had someone else to do all the work too )t' Another room so to speak, well done you )t'

Actually you have added a room to your house! Look at it that way, it's very inexpensive, right? Beautiful job, Steve. You and your family will enjoy it for many years.

Turn it into 180 foot of this;

To make 7 of these;

It took me around 5 hours to make those, worth it I think for the finishing touch?

Around 2 full days from start to finish, I deserve a rest now {rofwl}

Well, until I find another project )t'

Top job that Steve. )t'
I like the way you have done the bamboo too. )t'
£167 isn't expensive when you consider the use you will get out of it and as you know it makes barbequeing possible in all weathers. )c(
