DD has just bought a house where the previous old lady owner wrote on several of the beautiful original oak doors in what looks like thick, permeant marker ink!

I have removed permanent marker from polished furniture with it a number of times, works great. [center]Relax, I could have been a twin.[/center]

Re: Permanent ink on oak - any ideas?Meths usually works on ink, but if the door is french-polished it'll fetch the finish off as well as the ink.
What about sandpaper?
