Servicing wood burners??

Post by Gwenoakes »

Have had an enquiry re a Grade II listed property to re-roof etc. During the conversation the lady said there was a very old wood burning stove in and the surveyor had recommended that it be serviced?!?! Me, being me said I would look into it for her!

I have never heard of them being serviced, so checked with gas/oil people and they dont seem to do it and never heard of it either.

Do you need these wood burners servicing does anyone know? Thanks.

Our chimney sweep used to give ours the once-over when he came to do the chimney.

Yes is the simple answer especially if it hasn't been used for a while.
This might help.
