foxglove seedling question

Post by keemjay »

Hi there, can anyone tell me is it too late to plant out foxglove seedlings? they are quite well developed but just wondered if it was too close to the weather getting colder?
and am i right in thinking there'll be no flowers till the year after next?

cheers

If they have established roots and are getting pot bound, then they should be alright (last year I sowed foxgloves but didn't want to overwinter them in their pots so planted them and they were fine - and we had the worst winter weather ever!) Foxgloves flower in their second season

So that's like wallflowers is it? Sow them this year, get flowers next.

Yes they should be fine to move now. They are great at seeding themselves and very amenable to being dug up and moved in their first year. Yes, Foxgloves are biennials - grow one year, flower the next.
