No, you can sow whenever Perches, just ask the Garden Centre for the most suitable.
They were doing so last week at the Cricket Club, I think they use a fast growing Wimbledon type.

The only thing is that being Winter, the types of birds around more now are those who are going to forage for anything.

In fact this is the best time of year to sow grass seed, the ground is still warm and the rain will help it to sprout. If seeded in spring you often have to water and then it gets everyone wondering over it plus the mower on the loose. If you have problems with birds then place chicken wire over the area. Your biggest problem this time of year is finding the seed! if it has not got xmas stamped on it garden centres don't seem to want to know.

NO Al, you have got that wrong - she said DATED. >dum<

Next July her grass (Dorothy) is going out for a fabulous meal with Gary grass. Hopefully they will have a magical evening and there will be lots of baby grass to follow. :-D

If this happens again use ryegrass or any shade mixture= good start even in the fall, wil survive under snow. Or get a hay bale, older the better and take seed from it.
