Re: Heating a greenhouseI used to use a parafin heater on frosty nights. That was when I grew a lot of bedding for school fundraising. But to be honest although it wasn't very expensive it only just keeps the plants alive. If there is prolonged cold they don't thrive. Also some didn't like the fumes.
I don't heat now. I grow the early seed in the conservatory and move it out to the greenhouse when just bubble wrap or fleece protection is enough. Quand je serai vieille je vais vivre en France

Re: Heating a greenhouseWe worked it out that old Arthur on our allotments was spending £20 on parrafin
for every £10s worth of tomatoes! I'm still experimenting with a candle powered upturned plant pot job, since my battery powered max/min went wrong, the jury's still out1 I'd like to live as a poor man with lots of money.
