Hyacinths

Post by secret squirrel »

Now they have finished flowering, should I cut the tops off? Or should I put them in the garden and wait for the leaves to die back on their own? Should I leave the tubers in the compost or take them out and let them dry.
If I take them out, how should I store them?

Are they in pots indoors? I've never had much joy the second year.

Cut the flowers off.
Continue to water and plant outside soon You can plant the whole thing, minus pot, so as not to disturb the roots. They will die down in their own time. They won't flower as early next year but they will still give you a show for a couple of years in the garden.
Buy new bulbs for indoor use next year.
