DIY Pollytunnel

Post by demonchilli »

I started this tunnel this time last year(2010) Waiting to find and source the materials for free or as cheap as slowed me up )t' I've made it for just shy of €200.The plastic was the biggest expense but should hopefully last for 5yrs plus.
It was handy enought to build and good fun.Its 6x3m
Image Once the plot was marked square the poles went it and the hoops on.They are very strong I was hanging and bouncing off them like a mad man trying to pull them down over the poles :-D Some jobs are much easier with 2 pairs of hands...

The plastic went on easier than I'd expected. Its was a bit scary cutting it to finish off.I wrapped the sides at the bottom around 2x1 battens and then screwed into the planks.

The door and opp end panels were made to lift out to alow the breeze, its works well bar the 'windows' warping a smidge.Thats my woodworking )t'

I grew in grow bags last year as I had no time to finish proper beds before I needed to plant stuff just finished laying slabs and edges last week :-D

Another bumper crop of chillis coming again )de:
I pretty uch followed the plans from herehttp://www.overthegardengate.net/userpages/pp_view.asp?fname=polytunnel&page=1Very clear and easy
