My garden the before

Post by Annie »

This is the part of the garden I am trying to reclaim after the chooks have been on it all winter. No weeds but no grass either . Still I will enjoy buying tough shrubs to plant.
Image
The chickens bit of the garden.The green netting by the run is protecting gooseberries, rhubarb and apple and plum tree. In the top right is a black object and this is me trying the forcing method of rhubarb on the old crown.

These used to be 2 lovely raised beds 1 for strawberries and one for spring flowers now just the chooks favourite dust bathing places.
The fence needs plastic trellis putting on as 4 of the girls are getting over no probs and I will be planting tallish shrubs my side of the fence to hopefully deter them as well. Hope in a few months that there will be After pictures !
It will be alright in the end , if its not alright, it isn't the end .

your "lawn" looks very similar to mine, Dave and i are both off work this week and were trying to sort out the garden as well, involves lots of trellis panels which are being delivered today, then i may tackle the "lawn" in a week or two, your garden looks lovely though, mine was just grass.

And mine!!Lawn, what lawn? Just re-seeded mine. Unfortunately the damn birds keep eating the seed. I shall just keep putting seed down until it grows, out of spite. :-D

I really don't know what to do with my 'lawn' as it was growing back nicely from where I penned the chooks, and then Bailey arrived. It looks absolutely terrible at the moment, with no chance of successfully reseeding because of her wee. }hairout{
