Mmmmmm......lovely. )c(

Every morning when I go to work, I begin in the rose area. You should see and smell it. Mmmmmmmm. Fabulous.

I may take my new camera down there this week.

They are gorgeous blooms , the old fashioned ones dont always last so long but are a sight for sore eyes. We have a few roses from D. Aus-tin roses and they mimic the old type rose and most are very fragrant , they have a lovely catalogue to browse through - could end up spending a fortune

I've got gertrude jekylls too, but only the blooms now, as the girls have stripped the stems leaving them leaf less! i have had to put chicken wire around them until the autumn and i can re site them. good job i love those girlies {rofwl}

They are gorgeous, lucky you. You should have wrapped them in cello wrap and tissue first then handed them to Mrs Scrambled and you would have gained umpteen brownie points for buying her flowers

I really must buy some roses, struggling to find a blue one though.

Thanks Maggie, sorry didn't see your reply earlier :oops:

I do love blue flowers but since the blue roses are pale I think I will get a deep red one instead

If you like blue flowers (P)Agapanthus, (P)Campanula, (P)Canterbury Bells, Forget me not, love in the mist, (P)Icelandic poppy, lupin. The ones I've marked with P come up every year the others reseed themselves. If I think of anymore I'll write some more.

Blue flowers - Hydrangea (depending on soil), several clematis, geranium (perennial) but I cant think of the name of the common variety that grows in the wild too ,ceanothus

Sorry scrambled I seem to have taken over your thread :oops:

Thank you for the suggestions everyone, I have quite a lot of those flowers. It is just that I really want what I can't have which is a blue rose. As I said I think I will settle for a deep dark red climber instead. It is to grow up a high wall with maybe a virginia creeper and a passion flower (large wall so plenty of room)
