I have 3 roses that are still in their containers and I want to plant them out.
Is there a particular time of year they should be planted or doesn't it matter?
Also should I cut them back as they still have all their leaves?
What to do with roses.

Re: What to do with roses.Hi, if they are container grown you can plant them out anytime really, though obviously not in the depths of winter. Maybe just tidy them up a bit if they are a bit straggly , The roses I have in my garden get about 1/3 rd cut off in the autumn so that they are not so likely to get root disturbance if the weather turns blowy and then they get a good prune come the spring. Make sure you dig the hole deep enough and incorporate planty of compost into it.
It will be alright in the end , if its not alright, it isn't the end .

Re: What to do with roses. Thanks Annie.
I'll sort them out today as it really is a beautiful day.
Re: What to do with roses.Roses are one of the few plants whose roots will withstand fresh manure, so fed them s***.
Mike Right now I'm having amnesia and deja vu at the same time. I think I've forgotten this before.
