I need to protect some new shrubs (yet to be planted) from wild rabbits, and I'm looking at getting some shrub / tree protectors. There seem to be two types, and I'm wondering if anyone has any experience of which may be better for the plants?
The choice seems to be expanding, clear-ish, plastic ones which are sort of wrapped around the plants and expand as they grow. The blurb says that these can also help the plants grow because they act like a bit of a greenhouse.
The other option seems to be wire mesh.
The plastic seems to be a good option (it's recycled stuff) and I'm veering towards that, but thought I'd see if anyone else has used either/both and whether you found them effective, have any words of warning etc?
