pruning advice anyone?

Post by kitla »

I was planning on doing my pruning soon, perhaps after this next spell of cold weather. But I noticed that one of my clematis already has flower buds due to the mild weather we've had I spose! If I prune it anyway, then feed it, do you think it will flower again?
Or should I leave it long & gangly then cut it back after it's flowered?

What sort is it? I seem to remember there is different advice depending when they flower.
Try looking on the RHS site, that always answers my questions.

I cant remember which type it is Mo, but I've had it for years & have always pruned it
at about this time & it flowers beautifully. But it's never had flower buds this early!
