Hi
After talking with some firends my husband and I have decided to venture into the world of chicken keeping. We have an old shed that needs some restoring in the corner of our garden that would be perfect. However, thereis currently a healthy spread of ivy that is covering one complete side of the shed. I have always heard so much about ivy being poisonous to us, but will effect my chickens and are there any other dangerous plants to keep away from the garden?
Any help would be absolutey great!!

Hi Harriet
I have never heared of ivy being poisonous to chickens but I'm not sure. There are a few types of ivy . I have a small ivy plant growing along the ground in my garden it has never annoyed my hens. You should bring some of it to your nearest garden centre and ask them.
