Garlic in the water?

Post by sunny »

The lovely chap from whom I bought my chickens, who is also involved in some sort of chicken organsation in E. Sussex, has suggested we put a clover of garlic in the water font. He says add a new clove when the old one starts to rot. Apparently, garlic to chickens like cod liver oil to humans. Any one else heard of this?

Yes I've heard of people using it, it is also meant to keep away creepy crawlies too.

My daughter found that feeding it to her pony helped keep flies away, and improved his breathing.

Thanks for the tip peeps..... I'm off down the garden now!!!

I wonder if they like chillies and ginger too?
