Hi, could anyone tell me what the width of a perch should be for marren size hens should be,

I use some sawn branches and some ordinary wood. Some are thicker than others and they tend to move around from one to the other.

I reckon on about 2.5" x 2.5" to 3" x 3". The diameter of the branches is about that as well.

If you pick one up and stand him on parts of your arm, you'll get a good idea.

Beware though, they hold on quite tight !
