Sunflower oil on Food

Could anyone give me some advice about feeding sunflower oil on crumb food.

My 2 little ex-batts wouldn't eat when I got them and I mixed up sardines in sunflower oil with the crumb. They loved it. Ate it all up. However, they have developed a fondness for sunflower oil covered crumb.

They wont eat the mash without sunflower oil on it. Trouble is my big birds are eating it at every opportunity and leaving their pellets in favour of the oil covered mash.

How much is a safe amount of oil on pellets, I roughly feed 2 t/spoons per bowl of food (2 birds) I don't want to feed something to them when I'm not sure of the effects, if any?
