Worms

Post by OldForum »

Wendy
Do chickens get internal parasite's ie: worms?
My dogs won't stop eating their poop, even though I try my best to clear it up, they always seem to find some I have missed.
I found, yesterday, that one of them has worms and I wondered if they have picked them up from the chickens.
I have wormed all the dogs, but if they come from the chickens, I need to do them also.

Urrrrgh !!

To be honest, I haven't a clue !

Sorry to sound cynically abrupt.

Dogs will be dogs and chooks will be chooks. All part of the great mystery of things.

Chickens most certainly do get worms and should be wormed twice a year

Wendy
Thanks for that Mikey.
I have spoken to my vet and he can only get amounts for about 2000 chickens!!!! as I only have 4. do you know how I can get smaller amounts?.
I know the dogs will eat their poop. But internal parasites are not good for anything to have, and they are better off without them.

The main 2 products for worming that I know are Flubenvet which is added to their food and can be found at http://www.domesticfowltrust.co.uk/health2.html or for a totally oganic herbal remedy you could try verm-x http://www.wormers-direct.co.uk/poultrywormer.html

hope that helps

What a star you are.
I have ordered the organic ones.
Thank you so much.
Once I do the girls I will worm the dogs again
