Comb query

Post by Bluefinch »

As I have said before I am new to chicken keeping but so enjoying it. I have two blue marans, Bluebell is darker than Willow. Willow has a red comb whereas Bluebell has a black and red comb which I assumed was normal until I started reading about combs. They both seem very healthy. Should they both be red?

Hi bluefinch,

I'm sure others will agree, all sounds well.

A pale comb is more a sign of ill health, that and the combination of weight loss and lack of energy.

As long as there's no sign of of the two combi's above, I'd say you're doing a grand job and all is well.
