I think in their first year they have various moults as they grow rather than a big winter moult. And often keep laying through the first winter.

My three have gone into a big slow down too. On 30th December there was a gale all night, the electric kept cutting off and for the first time no eggs next morning. Since then it's been one or two at most but what they do lay are huge! Usually over 80 grams and one double yolk monster of 99g. It's like almost the same amount of egg production is going on inside them but it's coming out as fewer eggs but larger ones.
