Feathery Feet

Post by ChookDee »

Hi All,

One of my salmon favorelles seems to have problems with the feathers in her feet, quite a few times I have noticed blood on her foot and have just assumed she has pulled out/caught a feather. It seems to happen quiet often, never happens to my other girl and have noticed that her scales seem more raised than my other girl.

I was wondering if it could be scaly leg mite but her feet dont seem to be red or irritated.
Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem?

Thanks

Dee

I've found my feather footed chooks more prone to scaly mite and it's harder to
get rid of. I've had one lose a toe from it, so I always treat them with ivermectin
dropsat the first sign of problems now.
