Hi all , Any further suggestion on treating my sick girl
Have given ,Metcam and will give her for a further 3 days.Tylan 3 days (forced down throat to make sure she drinks it). now put on Coxoid today .Feeding buy hand to make sure . Bath to clean rear and in sawdust and straw for a bed .On own and in warm (sort of ) .
anything else out there that may help her in her recovery.

I know some people swear by a 50:50 mix of probiotic natural yoghurt and olive oil. Anything high in protein may help too - when mine were ill, they could rarely resist scrambled egg.

what are her poops like Bob? that can sometimes give you a clue to what might be wrong

Hi , runny ,white with some lumps this morning.
I think it is the dreaded coccidiosis ,same as Bloomers had and few others.
Coxoid (Harkers ) is the treatment for it I am sure.
Problem I am having as she has had it a while how much damage to her system has been done. Hoping as long as she is alive and I can force feed her pellets etc and drink she can fight it .Time will tell.
Sure that if she does not eat she will lose the fight . Still hopeful as per my diary she is alive and still holding her head up .yesterday she was flat and wings spread supporting her self sitting down and head was rolling with no energy in her . This morning a lot better but long way to go. Nights on Thursday so can feed her every couple of hours and med all day long .
trying to do what I have successfully done before and doing more of it.

Coxoid -coccidiosis - seems to be roote cause and treatment for this maybe the answer to a lot of chickensfeeling fowl.....

Sorry you lost your girl Bob. Sometimes there is nothing we can do to save them. It was good that she went in her sleep and no need for a trip to the vet. Sending you a hug.
