Ah., the weather we all love so much !!

Tramping up the Garden at silly o'clock, slipping on the mud, splashed by frenzied chickens racing for the food

Picking out the poo which in summer was hard and easy to get at !

Going to shut them in, sometimes by torch, sometimes by guess work !!
Trying to count them, finding a missing one in the half light only to find it was in the Coop all the time.

As you know, I'm afraid I don't have Chickens any more but these are the things I miss.

How are you all doing in this weather ?

I hate the rain so much more since having chickens. The run is covered but the rain blows in the sides and a lot of the run gets wet. I worry about it, the girls have muddy feet. I know they are fine but would so like to keep more of the run dry and am always working on it. I just want the best for my girls.

Just about to face our first winter with chickens, going to be interesting if the snow really falls heavily. Still we can always knit them all little jackets to wear!!!

Well I hate to say it but different seasons here ...today was 28 degrees + but it seemed way hotter...I got heatstroke!

Well, though I don't like the ground muddy & slippery I think I prefer that to shaky.

I did go a over t in nextdoors henhouse, his roof is leaking everywhere only a quarter of the run is dry Luckily I didn't land on any of the girls. Have to say on monday was a bit scared going over the bridge with the stream raging and reaching the top of the bridge. But then that is the fun of henkeeping I suppose, well I keep telling myself that

How did your Chickens and other livestock deal with the quake ?

We had a minor one here a few years ago, woke me up, shhok the house, thought it was vertico at first.
When I went up to the Chickens they were all just loping around looking a bit lost and bewildered.
