cockerel anti crow collars

Post by Gwenoakes »

Just looking on the net about chickens and found ads for the above.
Have never heard of them but tbh do not like the idea of them, especially as they are supposedly 'if fitted correctly' to be under the feathers.......What happens if someone forgets they are there and the cockerels grow, or if they are incorrectly fitted.......what then?
Has anyone heard of these?

Hi yes , I use them , Desmond has one on . To be honest they reduce noise level but not enough to make enough difference .
It is just velcrow strip .
Padded . Have to check regularly as bugs love to be there. 3 to 4 pound for a strip (s) .

Fitted 1 yesterday on an orpington.
Lowered the volume of crow and made its crow shorter.
I fitted it as a last resort because I wasnt sure about them........Are they cruel....
The bird I fitted it on was a little bothered and I slowly tightened it through the day.
By eod he didnt seem to notice it was there.

Better than dead. As long as not too tight . When you put them on they run backwards till they get used to it . hens try taking them off him as well.
