I am so sorry to hear this, June. But.........you did in the end what you knew you should and would be the kindest for Rosie and for that I take my hat off to you. You are a true animal lover. R.I.P. Rosie at Rainbow Bridge. {hug&kiss}

Thanks everone. Before having chickens I would never have believed that I could feel so much for them. Lots of people would think me potty but you caring people understand. {hug}
I am now a widow and live with my memories.

June I'm so sorry to hear this sad news about Rosie. It is very difficult to lose them, especially the ones that become pets and companions. I'm sure you will miss Rosie so much but do remember the wonderful life you gave her {hug}

Surprised as you have not got any other hens so not spreadable.

The vet did say that she would let me know. I think that she was being very cautious as she couldnt find the obvious wrong but Rosie was obviously ill. I could have had a scan on her stomach which felt hard but I didn't think it fair on my old lady to put her through the stress of anaesthetic. Will def let you know when told.
