No, please don't let them eat the dogs! Dried or otherwise.
Mine used to get potato water, strained through the grass there was all the spud that had collapsed in cooking.
No longer. I now follow AnnaB's advice, and steam my spuds so they don't fall to bits.
My Chilli plants...my strawberries...the bloody tomatoes (god there were fights over the bowl whilst I was trying to collect the thinks heads stuffed in there trying to fish them out!)...
know what you mean about the tomoatoes - they're at the leaves and flowers in a flash - little b.................
Funny thing is, last year they devoured my hostas like pirhana fish in about 10 seconds flat - now they leave it alone!! Famous last words......
When I first kept hens I let them free range over the garden but as soon as I saw the damge they did uprooting some precious plants, including some established hellbores, I went straight to B&Q for chicken wire, wood and a staple gun!
Same here.
I loved then free rangeing and they did so for about 18 months. Eventually my 'lawn' looked like Brighton beach when the tide went out.....mud and worm casts !!! not one blade of grass.
They now have a 40' x 5' run. and I have my lawn back.

The colonel is partial to canapes, peeled grapes(white or red), cucumber sandwiches, and perhaps a glass of chilled chablis. No , I dont think he is spoilt!!!! , he is very cute and a much loved cockerel.. He missed me whilst I was in Southern Ireland on holiday,he only had chicken feed.

Dear Wendy.
My servants needed a break, they work hard attending to my every need. I did miss my special treats but the lady of the house kept supplying me with goodies from the kitchen. Just glad they are back and things are normal again, eg. peeled grapes, chablis etc. It's so hard being this gorgeous!! . the colonel.
