I stripped the coop yesterday for a grand clean and was amused to see that Buttercup has taken over as the cleaning supervisor.
Dottie survived eating carrier bag bits without any ill effects. Both speckledys seem reluctant to go to bed too early although Buttercup goes in very quickly. There's no sign of nasties in the coop.
I suspect my son is giving them treats when he goes out for a dratted cigarette and the security light goes on. Think I'll disconnect it.
Bought a long handled pooper scooper for the dog waste but it's so good I'm buying one for the chicken run too. I know buying long-handled anything is a sign of old age but it goes with my grey hair.
Egg production is up slightly this week with 5 over two days from 3 hens. I think that's pretty good.
I need to get some new photos taken but always seem to get the girls' fluffy knickers and not much else

Sounds just what I could do with I've always had trouble with my back and bending over with a dustpan to poo pick is very uncomfortable. Can I ask where you bought it Sara?

What a freezing couple of days! No need to encourage Gaia and Dottie to go to bed. When I went to lock up all three were huddled and Buttercup looked round as if to say 'hurry up then'. This morning there was ice at the base of the drinker for the first time this winter. Three eggs today too so a full house. My worming pellets came today but son was working on his bike and didn't hear them so have to wait until Wednesday now. Hope the girls are nice and warm.
