As most of you know, Daphne passed away last night {cry}
She had been poorly for the passed 3 days with what I assumed was liver failure. She went downhill very quickly and I knew there was nothing that could be done so decided to let her pass away with her flockmates beside her.
The run looks very empty and have missed her high pitched singing, it was really beautiful. Nancy's been very quiet today and not eaten any mealworms or pasta, usually she would be the first there, she looks lost without Daphne, they were never more than 2 feet away from each other :(

On a better note, the weather has been beautiful and the chicks have had a lovely day outside

Their cheeks are so poofy :-D

Yes they are 7 weeks today :-D

Plan on keeping them outside when they're about 10 weeks, depending on how big they grow in the next 3 weeks.

I CANNOT wait to have an empty bedroom, sick of sleeping in the spare room )gr:

Hubby sleeps with his earplugs in!! Now they don't have the heat lamp and there is no light mine sleep all night now :-D

They are so big I think they will have to go out in the next week. They are now fully feathered and hopefully as there are five of them they should keep nice and warm.

I tried ear plugs but I just hated not being able to hear what's going on! I'm so paranoid I think zombies are going to break in the house during the night {rofwl}

Mine still have the heat lamp, they still sleep underneath it on cold days so have left it on for now. Hopefully now the weather will get a bit better and I can turn it off :)

Just a little update.

Miss Milly is still broody, the passed few days she's been getting up a bit more so hopefully she will be back to normal soon.
Summer's still being very loud and can't seem to find anything to make her stay quiet for more than 10 minutes.
Summer and Charlotte are laying 4-5 times a week now and I'm LOVING having eggs again!

The chicks are going outside all day now and the heat lamp is off at night. Once they're a little bigger and I have a hutch for them they will be able to sleep outside too.
Willow ate her first worm today too )eat(

Thank you Linda {hug}

I am really loving having eggs so much, had fried eggs on toast tonight and it was DELICIOUS! )eat( It's funny because Charlottes eggs look half the size of Summer's, but when they're cracked open there's barely any difference!

Lisa as your chicks get older they get more beautiful {hug}

I checked on my babies last night in their grown up coop, all five of them were perching and they were all facing the same way {rofwl}

Since they have been outside they appear to have doubled in size!!
