Straight on it before i had even finished it , also got the Garden back to how it was .

Not finished yet.... i have a number of other ideas like a detachable extention for the summer leading to the Garden .

One of the younger two , bottom of the pecking order but the one most likely to lay ?? due to the comb getting red ?

Got some diy nesting boxes in there today but never seen an egg of my lot yet not that it matters..

Added this as well .

The logs from the conifer hedge i removed to fit the run in , i screwed some take away containers to them and just drop in another on top so i a remove and wash...

That looks fantastic! Brill idea with the takeaway containers. I wondered about cleaning them until you said about dropping another one inside! :-D Your girls look like they approve of their new obstacle course )t'

Still no eggs everyone ..lol..

Been messing again and i am extending the run .

Third change in what 6-7 weeks , but a bit more shrub and soil removal (plus a bit more cash) and it makes sense to make the most of the space on the L/H side of the Garden .

The nosey one ....watching to see what is going on , plus eating all the worms from the dig out i gave her ..lol

Image

This area will add approx 5 m2 to the 8.25 m2 run

Image

Got a nice piece of willow trunk from a job at work i logged up the rest ...if anyone local wants a piece like this for there run if i get anymore you are welcome to them if i get anymore , i cut this one for the size of the run )t'

Image

It will give height to the run without taking up any floor space so should be a good addition to the run .

I have a number of ideas to improve everything (serial messer) it will keep the ladies and me entertained at least :-D

Your girls are very lucky to have their own state of the art gym, they will be organising chicken olympics before long, and now 007 Gwen Hen has her own diary the news will spread like wildfire and they will all be putting in planning permission for an extension for a health club {rofwl} Lindaxx

Ooh I love planning additions and improvements to the girl's house. Would love some log, bet you don't live anywhere near me though! You have made an excellent home for them, Christopher 'Wren' couldn't do better.

Done the extension now , another wallet emptier ..lol..

I put the log up the other end in the corner so they have more floor space , as in another post i have covered the floor in dry leaves ............

Lastly , i let them out for an hour while i was in the Garden .....

The next job is fitting a pop hole (a proper one) and adding a auto door opener for the morning , i have a cunning DIY plan )t'

The cunning plan is not cunning enough to be able to auto close it ..lol.. but just opening it up auto in the morning will be a ggod start and should cost nothing as i have the stuff to hand )t'

Hi Sandy

The chook watching i have not named her , she is one of the two young Point-of-Lay chooks i got from cheshire chickens to mix with the 3 ex bats .

She is the most out going Hen and the best natured and is last in the pecking hence waiting her turn but i always hand feed her with treats so she does not miss out

That looks like a lot of fun and interest for them.

I always pick up any interesting tree branches, if I see a fallen one when I'm out and about, so I can put them in the run to give the girls a bit of variety.
