Hi Happy days .
I went to see Desmond and not only did I see him but he took mealworms and barley from my hand . Would not let me touch him as he is now above me . Told he has his own hens he looks after .
Also my blue is still eating , drinking , and wants out which she did for a short while with me watching over her out in the garden front and back.
making a mess of her food on kitchen floor .
Does not roam much away from the back door.
Rest flock ok and cleaned out the top part of the big coop and fresh straw in nests.

Hi , I got home this morning to find little Blue sitting right up against the radiator in the kitchen near to the back door . I had turned the heating on (not my normal action ) to dry the plaster in bathroom .
It was 20 degrees plus.
If Blue is sick she has not lost her marbles . Snug and warm , food and water attention .
She is still fragile but on meds still . She has lovely feathers , dark brown .
rest of flock ok . Rain back .
KEEP WELL .

Hi Sandy plenty of Met and some Baytril (Best available , but does not cure all.)
Vets can supply me as a regular visitor .
Thank you for the offer . What the forum is about helping each other ,
House new window being fitted tomorrow . Capped so now thinking not doing much more to it as no return on it.
Just a good do over .
Have another estate agent to value .

Hi all .
all well at the flock of Penelope and Red.
Blue nr.3 is still in the kitchen . Eating like royalty and drinking .
Trips out in the front garden for a stretch .
Rest of flock enjoying the short break from the rain and wind.
Hybrids rule the garden . Amazing how the transform from timid hens that wonder at the world of freedom , to the hens that become owners of their own destination in life. Scratching and sunbathing and wandering around without a care in the world.
Manipulating the hand that feeds them.
A wonderful life.
I just wander how the human population will handle being caged up in the same way as the farm hens. Maybe my flock could give some survival lessons.

Hi all today it is confirmed chickens are horrible to each other .
My poor hen nr.3 blue was looking pretty good so I thought I would leave her in the garden for a while to try and get her back in the flock .
She pottered off and no harm being done .
I came back a few hours later . I could not see her by the back door .
I went out and could not see her in the garden .
I looked into the run and a bundle of feathers was just inside the gate /door.
I ran over to her . Picked her up . Thankful she was still alive .
I took her indoors and checked her over .
No harm done to be seen , just bullied into the ground.
I put her back in her orange tray box and gave her some food and Cat food .
She managed to stand up .
this unfortunately means that she will have to be a house pet for the rest of her life as not fit enough to stand her own.
Not over surprised but as long as she is happy and healthy as she can be for the rest of her life than I will be as happy as can be.
More up date Tues. when I get home and check her out and give her some TLC.

Hi all blue nr3 last night had recovered from her unwanted visit in the garden yesterday.
6.00pm last night I was watching the news on the sofa with fatty my staff , Fatty the cat(s) and the skinny Blue on my lap . All happily cuddling up to each other.
Like all my hens she is a character and does not worry about anything when I pick her up .
Even did not leave a present on my leg.
This morning she was awake early eating and wiping her beak on the edge of the cardboard box she is in.
Will give her , her last meds today as she has been on it a couple of weeks and if it has not sorted her out than no point continuing. have to have a think about a vet visit . Get more meds for the next hen s that may need it , also see if anything I can do for her .
Rest of the flock fed and left locked up.
On my own at work so be a late trip in the morning to let them out .
Plumbers and tiler for bath room today so may get SHMBO brother to let them out for me.
1.00pm estate agent nr.2 for price valuation .
Not happy with the first as capped by the neighbourhood .
Depending on value how much more work I will be doing on it .
Keep well .

Hi yesterday , I had 1 dog , 3 cats , 1 chicken and the rabbit all watching tele on a sofa .
Dr Dolittle comes to mind .
Bit bad when I had a conversation with them and they actually make noises back. Not the noises I want to hear from Fatty Polo I am sure .
Well another day I have got to go to work . Flood gates shut just to complicate matters .
Means a delay to getting to see the flock this morning .
Stay well and get prepared and get the flocks food in.

Hi , getting better 30,000 more and told do not do anymore downstairs or in the garden (as the flock have done a good job on it.) Open house and let them fight over it and raise the price accordingly . Better than asking for a high price done up and being knocked down. It is now down to me to decide on my future basically .
It could be done and dusted in 3 months .
So pick my time finish off work I have agreed to and look for a FRIEND to sofa surf with my animals . I am more trouble than they are for sure .

Hi been home and blue no3 was looking up at me all innocently.
When I looked round the corner in the kitchen she had left a trail off evidence .
Mostly round the cat food bowls.
I think she must be studying the cat flap as well.
Did not get as far as the sofa and the tele controls.
The flock out in garden pecking at the window at her.
I left a sight that is quite amazing . The blue nr 3 and Indie the cat sitting by the French doors sunbathing leaning on each other.
